  1. I've just begun experimenting with root veggies like these, and they're all
delicious and make wonderful chips. They're so good I wonder if they can
    really be low-carb. ๐Ÿ™‚

Has anyone got a quick comparison chart of these vs each other and vs
potatoes? I don't want to dig through the whole of the Glycemic Load thingy.

This isn't a chart, but it is a fairly easy source to use:

Ok, Mendosa had an article at http://www.mendosa.com/freefoods.htm on "Free
Foods" with a link to USDA charts.

Here's from my very rough search through the chart at
    http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/Data/SR15/dnload/sr15dnld.html

    Carbs Calories
    3.43 -- 17 RADISHES,ORIENTAL,CKD
    4.90 -- 21 TURNIPS,CKD,BLD
    6.20 -- 27 KOHLRABI,RAW
    6.23 -- 27 TURNIPS,RAW
    6.69 -- 29 KOHLRABI,CKD,BLD
    8.74 -- 39 RUTABAGAS,CKD,BLD
    17.99 -- 75 PARSNIPS,RAW
    20-30 -- c.100 POTATOES,various
