A great and inexpensive place to tour.
My wife and I were back there last year (March-April), visiting old friends in the Izmir and Aegean region. We lived there for nearly three years and it is one of our favorite places to visit.
Lots of backroads and antiquity to gawk at, especially if it's your first visit.
Remember to drink the Çay (chai) and eat yogurt on a regular basis and your system should stay healthy.
