im looking into getting a new bike but i am unsure as to what i want to do. im fairly new to riding (since about september) and i want to begin racing asap. however i dont know whether i want to focus on time trials or regular road races. can anyone help me out with the differences of each?? ive read that time trials are mostly raced by bigger more muscular guys. im only about 5'4" and i only weigh 115. just to add it in im a 16 year old male

Get a road bike. if needed, you could always outfit it with clip on aero bars and adjust the saddle/stem set up. This way you have a bike for both events.
