tt bike over road bike???

Dedicated time trial bikes are about one thing, going fast solo. They're not designed for comfort or versatility, they're designed to put you in an aerodynamic position so that you can go fast, especially on flatter terrain.

Even so, you can fit a dedicated TT bike for full out speed and aerodynamics or in a more comfortable endurance-aero fit. If you're targeting full length triathlons then you're probably not going to push the aerodynamics as far as a road racer doing TTs in the 20 to 60 minute range. Still you'll be riding in a far forward position, steering with your elbows, rarely sitting up to stretch your back and driving your taint into the nose of the saddle. Not exactly the same as a road bike fit for day to day riding.

If you're chosing one bike over the other for all your riding then you've got to ask yourself how serious you are about triathlons and time trials and whether you'll want to do any group riding. If it's a question of having both bikes then go for it, just make sure you ride the TT frame enough to adapt to the demands of that position before your races roll around.

In season I ride at least one and usually two days a week on the TT frame but I sure wouldn't own just that bike.
