  1. Hi!

I need to true my wife's HED Alps rear wheel. I would have it done by a specialist - but the closest
is probably quite a few thousand miles away! We had this done in NZ when we were there recently but
the local experts only tightened the one side only - where the nipples are accessible without
removing the tyre - of course it is now off centre. And now when she rides it it makes this awful
noise with the spokes rubbing I assume.

    So please tell me:

    - Is it possible for someone like me to do? I have built a few normal type wheels and trued quite a
few more and they have all stood the test of time.

    - Are there any special tools required?

    - Are there any other tips you have?

I look forward to your comments.

The only way to properly do this is remove the tire and then true it like any wheel. You need a 5mm
nut driver(I think), long enough to reach the nipple ends.
