I need to true my wife's HED Alps rear wheel. I would have it done by a specialist - but the closest is probably quite a few thousand miles away! We had this done in NZ when we were there recently but the local experts only tightened the one side only - where the nipples are accessible without removing the tyre - of course it is now off centre. And now when she rides it it makes this awful noise with the spokes rubbing I assume.
So please tell me:
- Is it possible for someone like me to do? I have built a few normal type wheels and trued quite a few more and they have all stood the test of time.

The only way to properly do this is remove the tire and then true it like any wheel. You need a 5mm nut driver(I think), long enough to reach the nipple ends.
