*Is it possible to grind (or slide) solely on your pedal?

    David *

yes, and to grind hand rails you have to. yes, the side of your crank
will slide agaist what you are grinding. When I am pedal grinding, I
always find myself dragging my heel. some people say that heel drag
    helps balence.

To grind rails you can also just slide crank it works. i heard you get
further with pedal slide but have more stability with crank grinds.

true, the problem I have with crank grinds is that it is really hard to
do without having the tire rub against the ledge or rail and stopping
    foreward progress.

true. the problem I have with crank grinds is that it is hard to not
hsve your tire rub against the ledge or rail, bringing the uni to a
halt. when I try to crank grind on rails, my wheel roatates so the rail
ends up between the crank and the wheel. I believe that crank grinding
will lead to cooler tricks (dropkick grind).

  6. Well I started trying to ride one-footed today, I got in one revolution
on my first try before I fell to the side.

Also, for the life of me I cannot keep my pedals in one position while
hopping. I just land the first one and start rolling. I've tried
applying equal pressure, but it just rolls forward.

    Oh well, I'm getting better.

  7. i agree w/ robbie. i think it should be called a pedal slide, too. pedal
slide just kinda rolls off the tongue, while pedal grind sounds kinda
crude. but, i guess it'll end up like rocking, (having multiple titles
    for the same thing.)

  9. After 45 minutes of trying I got from an average three revolutions of
backwards to a full 35 feet. Granted, I was wobbling left and right, but
my course was generally straight. Soon enough I'll have it nailed.

Well... almost everyone else seems to think it should be grind, so I
    guess it's grind.

one-footed idling, then to one-footed riding, then to wheel walking, and
    then back to one-footed riding.
    ... it felt awsome

  17. hmmmm lately...i cleared a 6 stair on my 24", and then i got my new 20"
trials, and im sooo close to gliding, its not funny. am also trying a
gap between to benches (same height) that is just over my head height. i
can flat gap that far, but at the moment i've only had enough guts to go
    to my crank...

  20. like oldandmoldy I've just nailed hopping and riding down 10 inch drops
    - and up much smaller kerbs. in the same session managed some very short
idles, stand-stills and a couple of revolutions backwards.

2 months of very gradual progress and then wham - so much in 45 minutes!
