greetings all, new to this board and would apprecitate some input from
those of you with experience. i'm a formal road racing guy, did a few
tri's in early 90's. job, injuries, life stuff got in the way and all
the exercise stuff came in second unfortunately. i'm back to riding,
i'll be back near a pool this fall, *might* be able to get the knees
fixed to run again but i'm not holding my breath. just looking foward
to getting back in shape.
if you're still here thanks for sticking around, now for the question.
i'm wanting to get some tri bars for my bike. i'm on an old klein now
but am looking at a new ride in the upcoming months. i want a more
aerodynamic, and just another riding position, for the long roads in
north texas. what do i need to look for in aero bars? i'm thinking
of just getting a set of clip-on's, sorry if that's not the correct
name but i think i know what i'm trying to say. but in the clip-on's
i've seen ones where my hand position is vertical v. angled in. is one
better than the other or is it personal preference? i'm 6'2" with
long, primate type arms. how much extention should i have when on the
aero bars? are there problems with the clip-on type bars? i.e. not
able to tighten them enough so they don't slide down, etc.?
thanks for sticking around, happy and safe training to y'all,
jch
