  1. After spending the last few years only mountain biking, I am again getting the urge to get back to road riding.

Several years ago I did a few 10 mile TT's on a pretty standard 531c Raleigh road bike without tri-bars.

Has anyone switched to using tri-bars and can give me an actual time saving they had over 10 miles?

In other words are they worth it??

Also what's a decent time these days for 10 miler?

I seem to find I increase speed by about 5% speed increase when I move into the aero position and maintain the same effort. You can definitely feel the difference in drag. I have never done a timed comparison with and without over the same course.
