I noticed that the Trek website and their catalog differ in the specs for the Pilot 5.0. The website has it listed as a 10 sp and the book as it as a 9 sp. I have put an e-mail in to trek but thought someone here could supply the answer quicker.

Is the book you're looking at for the current model year? The 5.0 has a mix of 105 and Ultegra components, and 105 was upgraded to 10 speed recently.

The book is for the 2006 models....Edition 35...picked up from the LBS yesterday. I don't know how long they have had it.
