Trek 8900 SL Frame

Sweet stiff alu xc frame. Yep, those are for their Hayes disc brakes.

I feel such a fool now but I ride with V brakes and have never really
considered disc technology at all.
Ironically 10 minutes after posting I found some info about Hayes
mount on a web site. Am I right in thinking that you either put an
adaptor into the tapped holes which will allow any disc brake to be
used or is there a special disc brake that is compatible with this
type of mount

The 8900SL used to come with Hayes OEM, but any disc brake should work (51mm
IS). I knew people who had Maguras and Hopes on them. Anyway, this was
Trek's top of the line race xc aluminum HT frame. Should be a great ride
after built up.
