Good question. I have recently bought both bikes, the gt for meself and the trek for me partner. they're both rather comparable, with the gt offering slightly better parts and more durable if you're thinking of some off-road riding. the trek is somewhat lighter which was why i gave it to me girlfriend. really depends on how you feel riding them. gt will offer better resale value.gila
