Trek 1500

Bought an '05 1500 for a family member. Nice bike with some really nice upgrades for the money. He loves it, rides it quite a bit and it is holding up really well. No complaints and you could do a lot worse.

I have owned a Trek 1500 for one year now, and put thousands of miles on it without a single problem. The alpha superlight race frame rides smooth, and upon every pre and post ride inspection, I find that it never looses its structural integrity (cracks, bends, etc. unlike a few other aluminum-carbon composites on the market.) The ultegra components are smooth and responsive, and the bike gives me a positive feel everytime I ride it. I can't wait to take it out today 😄. For the money, I couldn't find a bike that fit me better, rode smoother, and performed better in the races that I've done to date. It's a solid bike, and the only upgrade you may seek out is for the wheels if you get into racing.

As with any bike though, ride it a few times at your dealer, and get a technician to fit you to it properly.

Alternatives:
A comparable ride in the same price/component range is the Giant TCR 2.
(I ended up choosing the trek due to the feel and the services offered by my trek dealer.)
