  1. Hey folks new to the cycling world. I have the opportunity to purchase a trek 1.1 for $550. My concern is.. Is this a good buy and also it's a 62cm, I'm 5'11 so is this going to be too large of a bike. Gentleman ssdd it has about 50 miles on it.. Any advise?

The MSRP of a 2012 1.1 is $729.99. Dealers regularly mark these down under $700, and it's likely you could find a year-end closeout priced under $680. Buying a used bike, you will not get the Trek limited lifetime warranty on the frame. So even if this bike is pristine, his price is about $150 too high.

And at 5'11", you should be looking at Treks in the 54-58 cm range (depending on your body proportions and how you stretch over a road bike.. Riding a bike that is over two inches larger than your optimum size is no fun.
