I'm kind of thinking about starting a training regime. I currently cycle about 120 miles a week and so would consider myself to be in reasonable condition.
I guess a part of the reason I don't train like a professional is the idea of cycling being irksome and conditional rather than fun and pleasurable.
Anyway, whilst the summer months are still here, I kind of feel I should make the most of it. Would a full and complete training programme be something like this:
Over 3 months:
25 miles in the morning - waking the body up and getting going.
45 miles in the evening - working more on speed and sprints.
With the odd day off and the odd day doing something completely different - swimming, walking etc.
After a few weeks, I would hope to be in pretty good shape.
What do you think?
Or is the only secret to just always be doing as much as possible as fast as possible?
