I'm trying to put together my training plan for the next couple of months- (through July 10th) and was wanting some outside input. I'm pretty much basing this on my last year's training plan which worked pretty well.
Goal Races: June 19th- State TT
July 10th- State RR
I'm currently in Base 3, where I'm doing 2 x 20 tempo rides twice a week, and a hard group ride (hills, sprints, close to race pace) on Saturday. Everything else is easy/recovery. I plan on building my tempo intervals up to 2 x 30 by late April, and then break out the TT bike. Starting in late April, I have a 1 x 25 threshold ride, plus 1 tempo ride (same as prior) and the Saturday ride.
I basically will build my threshold (TT) rides up to 60 minutes 10 days prior to the State TT, and am planning on doing 2 TT rides a week the 3 weeks prior to the state TT (keeping the saturday ride). After the state TT, I plan on cutting the TT interval to whatever the stage race TT's are in July in Arkansas, and adding in additoinal anaerobic workouts then.
My major concern though is I've built my schedule with a TON of long intervals in it, and I don't know if I'm shortchanging myself for the state road race.
