  1. I occasionally do something out of haste that may be totally wrong. I refer to occasions when I worked a 12 hour night shift and woke up around 15.00 p.m., took a couple of cups of coffee and then hopped on the bike for a circuit. On such occasions time is so short, I may skip eating and I only have about 1 hour and a half to ride.
But the point is, I find that riding with nothing in the system is possible to do for short, intense rides and I only burnt out once after 2 hours in the saddle. I also read that if you train on empty, you tend to burn up more fat but I don't know if this is true or not.
Is it really a bad thing to do or even unhealthy to cycle on an empty stomach? 😕
