  1. Lately I've taken to doing a few training rides on a cross-bike instead of the road bike I normally race. The thing is set up with seat hight and set-back similar to the road bike but with a more relaxed bar and stem position, still fairly forward though. I use the same type of pedals but the cranks are 2.5mm shorter. The up-side is that I get a better work out pushing the extra weight and wind. The question is..... is there a down side to training and racing on different bikes? Any comments.
