hi i was just wondering if anyone can give me any training tips, i havnt cycled since feburary before then was up to long rides of about 70 miles, i went out to day and done twenty five miles at eighteen miles per hour and was fresh enough after such a long lay off, any dieting tips would be good too, im hoping to join a club soon if anyone knows which would be the best for someone who would like to try racing, i live in the newcastle area, also does anyone know what kind of mph i would need to be averaging to attempt racing any advice would be good thanks very much
You must walk before you can run, grasshopper. Therefore, the best tip I can give you at this point in your cycling journey is to search this forum and do lots of reading in order to educate yourself about the basics of cycling training. After acquiring some basic knowledge, you will then be able to ask some reasonably educated questions about future training techniques.
To make a long story short - run your bike lots, then rest, then repeat...Good luck on your journey...my $0.02CAN worth...
edit: of course I meant to say "ride your bike lots"...
