  1. I'm very new to riding and this board so any help would be great. I am training for my first century (actually only 77 miles) and I really just started riding about 4 months ago. I used to mtn bike a lot but never much on the road. I have been riding or spinning (bad weather) for 1 hr. 5 days/wk and lifting weights about 2 days/wk. The ride is June 4th and yesterday I rode 40 miles. How far should I have riden before my big ride? Any advice on particular training regimens or programs I should follow? Also, can you drink too much water while riding? I seem to me drinking a ton. Any other advice or websites I should look at for help. Thanks..

  2. Try doing a search in this forum with search terms such as "first century." I think you'll find many threads that address your exact questions, including nutrition and hydration. Then, you'll probably have more precise questions.
