  1. Hi guys, fairly new at cycling and was wondering how often a week I should ride the bike?
Id like to do more endurance races then shorter sprint ones.

What would you guys recommend me doing to get greater endurance?
I feel like I am training myself for failure right now and id like your help please

This past week my training was like this

Day one: ride at 80-90% of max hb for an hour and thirty min.... and chest, core workout
Day two: swimming laps in pool fairly hard for 30 min... and bicep, back, calf workout
Day three: Doing 30 sec sprints every two min for 45 min total... and full leg workout, besides calfs
Day four: Swimming laps in pool fairly hard again for 40 min... and tricep, shoulder workout.

Today was day five and my legs were DEAD on the bike. I pushed through as much as I could in thirty min. but it was pretty hard.

I would like to compete in races by this time next year and was wondering how I should go about a weekly endurance training?
    Am i overkilling? underkilling?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks and God Bless

That really depends on what you are training for.

For fun and general fitness - just ride the bike as often as you like.

For cycling specific fitness, then you'll want to get at least 4 rides per week. How long and how hard really depends on a few things, but in general keep HR > 75% of your (tested) max HR while riding and you'll go OK. It might also mean doing less of something else.
