  1. Hi List,

I recently learned that in the middle of April my company is the primary sponsor for the MS150 bike tour in Mid-Florida. I am very interested in riding in this tour but have not done any serious riding in a long long time. the distances are 50, 75 and 100 miles depending on the course you take. I am going to start training this week but wanted to know if anybody felt 3 months was to soon to expect to be able to complete the distance. I am 5'8 and 245 (only a little out of shape) decent stamina and can go upwards of 4-8 miles at a clip before i need a rest.
i know everybody's body is different and reacts differently to work out but i was hoping somebody with experience might be able to shed some light

  2. I know cyclists that haven't done any training and have gone on long distance tours lasting weeks/months. You can definitely do this.

To be safe, get a checkup, set reasonable weekly riding goals and ratchet up the number of miles you ride each week.

  3. Go for the 50 miles.
