  1. Hi,

I am a real noob when it comes to bike riding. I can ride a bike but it pretty much ends there. I live in a pretty hilly area and I was thinking of trying to go bike riding about 20miles every weekend (Saturday and Sunday).

I normally workout Monday, Tuesday, Thrusday, Friday. Lifting weights and running. So I figured i could probably add it biking on the weekends.

When I go for a ride what should I look for in order to get better?

I am going to get a speedometer for my bike which is an Ironman Triathalon. I bought it when I was about 10 but It still fits me pretty well. It has thick treads however unlike a roadbike.

Would you recommend me getting a new bike if I were to get into riding?

Also what is a good speedometer to purchase that I could take off my old bike if I bought a new one?

Do I need anything else for my bike?

Now, when I train should I be looking for consistancy of speed while riding? or something else?

What is a good speed for a goal of mine to reach consistantly?

Please anything else that I need to know please tell me.

    Thank you

  2. well i like cateye computers. I am a rookie at it and just a jr. racer. But my stepdad has a nice cateye. but i dont think u should need that if u are going to do 20 miles each day and weekend. I got a actually kinda nice one at walmart. If u have a academy sports then u can find a wireless one there that my moms has on hers for cheap and pretty nice.

  3. I am just going to start out at 20miles. Then gradually increase it, as I get faster.

  4. alright then that is what would probaly be good.
