Hi, we sell both Tacx and CycleOps here. With regards to Tacx Fortius, we've had a number of coached athletes who have had problems with the systems motorbrake kicking in mid-session and its not a trainer we'd recommend.

We don't sell them, but we do use a Computrainer for testing athletes and stuff and I can't speak highly enough of the system. Brilliantly accurate measurement of wattage, spin scan, erg mode, its a brilliant system. But for £1,500, you'd expect that.

For decent quaility training, I'd push you towards something like the Tacx Flow, or even the CycleOps Power Beam Pro... well I had to do a little self promotion!

Have you got a link for the Tour De france trainer? I'd be keen to have a look.

I have been involved with the fitness industry for nearly 30 years and know most gym equipment pretty well. Most of what I have seen from ProForm is not commercial quality build and typically the electronic portion is the first thing to fail and the mechanical portion soon after.

I keep telling my wife this as well, but she insisted we go budget level on a home recumbent and treadmill and both have fancy gimmick looking digital panels that have stopped working in the first year. The recumbent no longer works because the magnetic resistance was electronically controlled through the panel. The display on the treadmill no longer works, but fortunately speed and incline are controlled by buttons - for now anyway.

I hope this ProForm bike turns out to be better than other items I have seen, but until I see a few years worth of customer reviews I remain skeptical.
