Trainer tires, in my opinion, are a waste of money. I did the bold thing because I always get someone from outer space who says I write things as facts and not opinions and my facts are wrong even though he misses the part where I wrote "in my opinion", but I digest...burp. Anyway I just use old road tires on my Cyclops Fluid 2 that have gotten to thin for the road and never had a problem.
Cheap hard smooth rubber tires work the best by the way if you don't like the use tire idea.
If you go the used tire route make sure you clean the tire first. You can clean your roller drum with Muc-Off Degreaser. Windex works for mild debris, just wipe the roller and tire. Use a mat under the trainer if on carpeting to prevent the carpet from turning black...BUT if you have your trainer adjusted right, tire inflated correctly then the carpet shouldn't turn black.
Make sure tire is inflated properly and make sure the tension isn't too much causing undo friction, or too little causing tire to slip; proper contact is the tire indenting about 2 to 3mm.
