  1. Does anyone know the God-honest truth about riding a new bike (in this case a Trek 2100, $1500) on a trainer, and whether there is undue stress placed on the bike from a trainer (Minoura MagTurbo hub mounted, typical stationary magnetic resistance trainer)? I've heard some people recommend using an old bike on any trainer. I'd appreciate any feedback about this!

    Thanks!

  2. I had the same concerns as you when i bought my new bike (Klein Aura X)
the shop i bought the bike from and the trainer reassured me that it would be ok. The frames on decent bikes are so well made that they can stand being used on a trainer. I've not used the trainer that much (although I will be now the winters here but i've not had any problems). When using your trainer you will get unusual noises from the bike but thats just because its lifted off the ground and is nothing to worry about - just turn up the tv or radio !! Make sure you dont use a good racing tyre on the back as it'll wear down real quick.
    Good luck

I got myself the same trainer just about three months ago. --Buddy it destroys your bike in more ways than you'll ever know: Firrstly it makes your fitness levels increase incredibly, it makes your cadence go up to a decent standard, it increases the training intensity by 100%, it teaches you to pedal in perfect cicrcular motion, it saves you time, keeps your bike out of the rain, helps to watch "Friends" dvd's while training and makes you available for urgent household problems.

I have a Wheeler Eagle 30, no problems after about 2000 km's. Just ride chine!
