  1. Anyone know which is better for riding speed with less muscle strain. To
    place all the cargo weight directly above the axle of a trailer or place the
    weight fore or aft of the axle? (2 wheel trailer...not a BOB)
    I already creamed one axle while riding down a hill when the weight shifted.

    with an automobile trailer, the weight should be something like 60% on the
    lounge/towing vehicle and the balance supported by the trailer. I can't see why
    that rule of thumb would work for a bicycle. however it seems your bigger
    problem was not tying the load securely or possibly overloading the trailer...
