Track bike pre 1940's

I have a track bike that was my fathrs and I used since 1970. I used to road race it in 71-72 when my age group were not allowed gears.
How do I find out what it is, it is not a M star and has been changed a bit.
My father had a engineering shop and brased a bracked on for rear brakes.
I have no interest in selling and I am riding again.
It has a seial number below the crank bearing and want to know just what make and year.

My advise is to post pictures, including close-ups of the lugwork at the headtube, seatstay cluster and bottom bracket.

If it is a Schwinn Paramount track bike the serial number may be tracked here: http://www.waterfordbikes.com/2005/data/culture/paramount/sn/over.php I believe Schwinn stamped them on the LR dropout (my Paramount is not near me right now to check).
