Seathwaite circuit 2-day backpack report, photos and 1 pan uploaded from Monday and Tuesday.
A good trip but with mixed weather: Friday was great until dusk with superb clear views and the highest mountains still capped with a thin covering of snow, but the mist rolled in at the end and it was wind-driven snow at the pitch.
Hopes of a temperature inversion were dashed when the strong wind and mist were still there when we opened the tent in the morning and it was snowing again. Still great stuff though.
Lovely photos Geoff ..... looks a wee bit better when I was last up there for the Great Gable service on the 14 of last month. Couldn't see much at all then.
Thought there might have been more snow around. Reasonable covering when Clare and I did a walk from Brothers Water over High Hartsop Dodd on the 19th.
Back up to Keswick for the New Year week, so hope there is a good 'dumping' of snow by then.

The weather looks fabulous for the first day: it's a little disappointing to wake up to thick mist on Sunday, when Saturday has suggested great weather to come - that's happened to me up there a few times recently. I love the pic's, and particularly the view of Great End from the Seathwaite Fell tarn. I was up there a few weeks ago, and so it's still very fresh in my memory 🙂 The pic of Sprinkling Tarn is also excellent: it looks like a vast ocean from that angle!
