A 3-day backpack around the Kentmere and Haweswater Fells in mixed but dramatic weather: clear sunshine, strong winds and vicious snow showers. The most memorable sights are often produced in turbulent rapidly changing conditions and the light was superb, the thin snow contrasting with the clear blue / dark grey / bruise colours of the sky. The nearest thing to a real snow walk this year, at least near the summits, though the Helvellyn range to the West was clearly better endowed.
Wonder what happened to the big freeze-up they were predicting for this winter?.

Another great report! Found your site a while back via OutdoorsMagic and have found it inspiring. In fact, last weekend saw my wife's first ever wildcamp with me on Fleetwith Pike (as it was a trial run we went for a site that was easy to reach).
