A reduced version of the Ennerdale trip we did last year to take account of the snow on the high mountains, which made progress a lot slower and more laborious with the winter gear but gave us a superb round with magnificent snowy views on days 1 and 2. The schedule gave us time to explore the lovely backwaters of Haystacks.
The snow is receding now but still calf-deep in some places on the high mountains.
