Grand afternoon on my local hills, parked on the pass at the south side of Moel Arthur, up the steep way direct from the road, heather alive with bees - and the smell............heather honey, gorgeous. Down the little used path from the summit through the heather and gorse to rejoin Offas Dyke track at the stile on the the north side of the hill. Down to the carpark at Llangyfan forest where the downhill mountain bikers congregate to mend bikes and patch one another up. Through the forest to the path along the valley side on the west of Pen y Clodiau. Back to the car following the Offas Dyke track over the ridge of Pen y Clodiau and flanking Moel Arthur. A good afternoon - 2 1/2 hrs, about 7 miles, haven't calculated the up and down but quite enough for a nice afternoon. A few pics at.

Just off the coast road nr Mostyn so anywhere on the Clwydians is a nice walk that can be fitted in between dinnertime and teatime. Half an hours drive each way.
