  1. A quick report for a long distance hill! left the main road
on our bikes and easily cycled up the initial 2 miles of
tarmac past many people heading for the Munro. The cycle
went easily with very few steep bits and were were to the
base of the walking in 1 hr 45 min. That is about 13 miles!
My son could have done half the time if he wasn't always
waiting for me. Initial steep ascend up the hard to spot
stalker's path (it starts just after the fenced enclosure)
was a real killer. Leg muscles were tired from not being
used to cycling. Felt like I was at altitude! As we neared
the summit there were serious loud thunder cracks coming
from the over the next ridge. Instant mental debate on how
badly I wanted this peak and how dangerous the lighting
might be. Thoughts of Ben Oss. Luckily the storm moved north
and we had great views. Seana Braigh was right next door!
The cycle out was fine, but tortuous. The track goes up and
down. never steep enough to justify walking, but almost,
making for hard work. So I walked some times 8-) We has
considered doing the other Corbett on the way back, but
wanted to get home so I could pack for California. (I send
this via wireless from the airport lounge in Newark)

    cheers, Rob

  2. Was up there at Easter (2nd visit) Approach from the north
and enjoyed a walk around the big northern corrie, End of
    the world feel to it

Again caught by rain at the top, but was able to navigate
off OK. The plateau here is very pleasant underfoot.

You can drive in as close as Coiremulzie lodge, so this hill
is not as remote as some may think.

3 day trip at Eastewr without meeting nor seeing anyone.

This is our nearest approach (used it for Seana Bhraigh
some years ago) and had intended to open our season with it
but ended up in the Cairngorms. Is the going good underfoot
    on the hill?

Yes.. very. That goes for the tops to the east as well. The
glens, and lower ground however are another story..
superbogs. Craig Loisgte, a marilyn to the north is a
chocolate sponge pudding - good luck.
