I had a walk out to Boat How from Boot in Eskdale this morning, it was
really strange weather as well with big snow
flurries, rain and sunshine - all in a short space of time.
Fortunately the clouds cleared as I reached Burnmoor Tarn so I got
some great views of Scafell and into Mosedale. We haven't had any
snow at all in the south lakes! Photo's are posted:

In flatest fenland we've had snow virtually every day for the last
fortnight but it all melts away within an hour [:-(]
PS - Can you recommend any child friendly Outliers (?)
Apart from the odd flurry, we've had none (at sea level, not the tops).
Child friendly outliers: Orrest Head, Latterbarrow and Gummer's How are
3 we've done recently. Depending on ages, virtually all are child
friendly.

Holme fell is excellent with superb views, boulders and rocks to
scramble on and near by tea house by Yew Tree Tarn is very reasonably
priced and furnished by Beatrix Potter.
Park at SD 321 998 (free) go Holme Fell -- Hodge Close (don`t fall in)
then either Tom Heights or Black fell or both and then back to car.
