  1. Every hillwalking day in Glen Dessary is a big day. Initially I had plans of an even bigger day, but
one remote Corbett was enough. I cycled past the 'no mountain bikes' sign at 11:30 with a smile and
ready to argue if anyone challenged my bike. But no problems. I was much later than I planned due to
missing a turn on the drive up, but we won't rub salt in the wounds ... Cycled to the bothy no
problems and left the bike near there. This was in case I decided to do Carn Mor as well. As it
turns out, I would have been better to cycle to the end of the track. It is good all the way to its
end. The path from the end of the track is now an ATV track and continues up the valley to the end
of the forest. I looked for the left path from the junction at NM929397. No sign of it. On the way
down I established that the path is in the opposite side of the stream to what is shown on the OS
map. Popped out of the woods in bright sunshine. I think this would be a great way to Sgurr na
Ciche, since you can use your bike for 4 miles. The pathless way up the ridge was rough but fine and
the undulating part was fun, but hard walking. Topped out after 3hrs 11 min in bright sunshine,
clear air and great views! After filming a panorama, I sat around for a long while looking at the
stunning views. The best descent is the route of ascent, but I decided to check out the descending
traverse to the woods at NM918934. I managed to piece together game trails and didn't have any
problems with crags. But the ground is very rough and uneven. Lots of tuffs of grass. So it went
fine, but was slow hard work. It would not be a pleasant way to go up! the path starts at a gate
just south of the stream. There I was standing at 210 meters below Carn Mor, but thought, no, leave
it for another day. Partly because it was getting too late and partly because my legs were tired!
Tholled and cycled out with a big Corbett tick under my belt. just under 6 hours round trip.

That figures. There was a fair amount of ATV tracks up the glen from stalking activity when I
    was up there.

Paths in forestry seem to be the bete noire of the OS. I have recently experienced the WHW not being
where it was shown amongst the trees above Crianlarich.

And quite right too. A great reason to return to another beautiful and relatively remote area. Sound
like you had yet another great day.

exactly 8-) Although I did the mental math and thought 610m won't take me that long, but too long
for the remaining day light ... 8-(

looked like a big pile of rubble from my view point across the Glen. As if I had been left where it
    had collapsed ...

yes, return visit will be well anticipated. Rob
