Well I had planned a snow camp in the Beacons tonight and last night, but my nephew (who was the one who was nagging me go camping in the first place) caught "the cold" and bottled out.
So taking Graham I's brilliant suggestion, I pitched the tent in my front garden last night, epically pushing the tent pegs into hard frosty ground. I spent a toasty night in my new Snowline bag, hardly able to sleep because of all the damn traffic noise. Hardly the most interesting camping trip ever, but at least I know that the sleeping bag works.
Distance: 20m, ascent: 0m, time: 8 hours or thereabouts. Temperature: -4 to -2 degrees.

LOL.That was more of a dare than a suggestion Paul, but well done and I'm glad you found it OK. (BTW I *always* carry foam earplugs with me wherever I'm camping 🙂 Graham
