  1. I've been looking at a comparison between the Conti GP 4000 and the Michelin Prorace2. The Conti comes in lighter surprisingly but neither package states the TPI on their packaging. Nor does the blurb on most websites. Can anyone help here?

    cheers
    Mick 😕

  2. I have both tyre books,

    Page 15: Conti GP4000, 3 plies, total 330tpi + Vectran Breaker.

    Page 54: Michie Pro2 Race, 127 tpi
It does not state how many plies.

I have used both and find the Michies slightly faster but they are Glass magnets!

TPI comparisons across brands are irrelevant. Different companies use different methods to count the TPI and of course, different casing materials, rubber compounds, and tread patterns also affect ride quality--probably more so than TPI. This stuff in advertisements about higher TPI is just marketing. Both of the tires of which you speak are high quality and will work well for high performance riding.
