I recently had a chance to try out several styles of recumbents for the first time. The EZ Sport hac
caught my eye on Ebay, and this was the first model I rode ('limited' edition version). I also rode
a 'V-rex' or similar, a GRR and a Tour Easy, among others. I kept going back to the GRR and TE and
went home wondering how long it'll take me to be able to afford to get a Tour Easy. I don't want to
get an 'entry level' bent only to go back after the Tour Easy I liked so well. The GRR *was* a nicer
ride, but I'll have enought rouble selling the TE price to my wife.
Then I find the Recumboni site & review. Looks kinda similar to the TE, although the review made it
clear they ride differently. Still pretty tempting seeing the set up 'boni (fairing, mirrror, kick
stand, bell) coming in around $500 less than a similarly set up TE.
Cash will be a delaying factor, so I'm also looking at the TE plans found on the web, and even
looking at the EZ-1 Lite, although I haven't tried that model either. The Sport didn't ride nearly
as nice as the TE...
Anyone near mid-north Idiana know of a recumboni I could check out?
Anyone with experience with both (TE & boni) who can offer comparisons?
Anybody have any comments (pro or con) on the idea of getting a lower priced model? I'm kinda
leaning towards a home-built if I decide to try to get something together without spending
two grand.
Thanks in advance,
Mike
