I just registered for the Columbia Maryland metric on May 6th. This will be my first organized ride ever. Has anyone done this ride before, and if you have, what should I expect. How is the support? traffic? you know, the normal question. also, is anyone else here planing on doing this this year?

I've never ridden the Maryland TdC, but other rides by the same group are usually pretty well organized.
My major complaint was at the beginning where everyone tried to be at the front of the crowd, at the starting post. It should have been announced that the fast group should be in the front, followed by those of us who think we're fast, followed by the leisure group. Instead, when the ride started, we had about 5 miles of weaving our way around the slow crowd.
In fairness, I think this is a problem with most of these types of rides.

I just did the Tour de Cure in Orlando, Fl. I found the support to be pretty good and the mapped route to be nice as well. The ada is a good org. It seemed to mostly depend on who's running it

Ive done both the rides in NC, Winston Salem and Buies Creek to Wilmington 2-day. I can say they were very well organized, well supported and planned out. Do it, its definitely a worthy cause. I plan on doing them both again this year, and Im even helping out with planning the one in Cary hopefully.
