  1. I bought a Windsor Wellington 3.0 online, and let someone I trust handle the semi-assembly. Long story short, he cross-threaded the pedals with the cranks, and the pedals stripped out the cranks completely. There are literally no threads left. Is this an expensive fix? I understand improbably need new cranks, but where do I go to replace them cheaply? Specs for the bike are here: http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/windsor/wellington3_IX.htm Thanks in advance for the help. The bike is 4 days old!

  2. You can find thread insert kits to repair the cranks, but you will probably end up paying more than they are worth. You can find an equivalent replacement at bikeisland.com - $30 shipped.

If it were me, I would go to Ebay and try to find a shimano Sora level or better upgrade.
