  1. Picked up my kit today. Interesting seminar with Bart Yasso and
Bill Rodgers. Nothing special for info, just a good feeling thing
    for a run weekend.

run done. whew! last year I had ITB from 17K to the end.
so that was a bit tough. This year NO injuries altho a tentative
knee had me worried. nothing developed so i ran a lot
more than last year. but i must have run slower because
my time was almost the same. my training was awful.
basically, it fell apart in June after good intentions
in May. my longest run (just once) was 24K.

nice temps when the wind was down. at a few places
we had a strong headwind. other places it was on our
    backs. no rain.

picked it up for the last 10K and passed a lot of people
who might have been going to quickly previously.
i like to try to say something to every lady I pass
or is passing me. some don't want to talk so the
conversation is one-way and VERY short. but
    it passes the time.

toronto marathon, i'm told, is the only marathon
that has Psykes on Bikes. Basically, volunteers
whose role is not to check you physical health
but to give you a pep talk and suggest other ways
to manage your pain. sometimes disassociation.
sometimes not. i spoke with one near the start
as I didn't have anything else going on. she was
very nice. other than that i don't really
know if this idea is worthwhile or not. naturally
all the volunteers at the aid stations and riding bikes
thruout the course were more than helpful
    and friendly.

the only thing that would have been a hot seller
would be a coffee stand selling lukewarm coffee
with straws. that would make my day.

one poor person (man I think) did die after
completing the marathon. no info on why.

will i do it again? guaranteed. it's my home town
and the travel is minimal. next time i will carry more
food with me. i had 3 gels and various halloween
candies totalling about 400 calories. i'll up that
by 200 calories next year. more salty crackers.

You have a lot of guts. I think one thing that keeps me running and
training is the fear of failure.

That's always fun. There's something morbidly satisfying about passing
runners that are hobbling while grabbing their hamstrings or wretching up
their gatorbarf on the side of the road. You gotta enjoy it while you
can, cuz some day it might be you.

You can only hope that those that say nothing will be the ones you later
see wretching up their gatorbarf. thehick yells, "That's what you get for
    not talking to me!"

Is is not something I would want. If a Psyke on Bike gave me a pep talk I
would think that I must look pretty darn bad.

Someone died last year also. http://tinyurl.com/72tae

Seems like a good enough reason. We have a marathon in Atlanta that is a
blip on the radar screen compared to the Peachtree 10K and the Atlanta
Half Marathon. After reading the reviews on marathonguide.com, I decided
    nope, don't think so.

    Don't forget the coffee.

You didn't report your time, but I think that considering your training
you probably did very well. Congrats!
