Well it's year two for me in Europe and I have to say Germany is such a great place for anything outdoors. I live in Bavaria and love to hike the Alps and recently started Mountain Biking and fell in love with the different situations this terrain has to offer. The lifestyle here is different then in the USA. Since most people have a more active lifstyle and hike and bike seriously the trails are more established and the whole hike/bike scene is very popular. One can ride to the top of the highest mountain (Zugspitz) and ride the glacier capped peak to the base if one is inclined to. Too much fun too little time!

Alice Springs, Central Australia. This place takes the cake mate!! Sealed roads, dirt roads, single track or goat track there is 100's of miles of each, all within 10min ride. The inaugral Central Australian Bike Challenge was recently held here with a handful of international riders taking part. Chris Jongewaard took out the trophy. According to Mountain Biking Australia magazine (Spring 03 ed.) - "The first Central Australian Bike Challenge was an excellent and challenging event, showcasing the mountain biking potential of the Red Centre over six days". The place has everything - steep climbs, gnarly downhills and tracks that literally go for hundreds of miles. Just watch out for the odd kangaroo on the trail.
