  1. I really like this stuff. It's deep-fried morsels
of chicken, in a bag, frozen, with two packets of
an orange ginger sauce. It's so easy to prepare
that I've been eating half a bag of it every morning
for more than a week. I was afraid that eating all
this fried food would make me fat, but I weighed myself
this morning, and I'm 2 pounds below my target
weight, so that seems to be an unfounded concern.
I just checked the bag a minute ago, and a whole bag
is 22 oz. and only 800 calories, so that explains
why I haven't gained any weight.

The chicken pieces are good -- real chicken (not
chopped and formed) with no gristly bits. I think it
is mostly chicken thigh meat. The label does not
disclose the frying oil, but I think it is peanut oil.
(Although I eschew peanuts, the health concerns about
peanuts for non-allergic people do not apply to the oil.)
The bag cost less than $5.

I fix it by putting it in my cast iron pot over
low heat, turning them once or twice or three times.
I dip them in the pesto sauce I make in my new
stick blender. I've been saving the orange ginger
sauce packets in my freezer, but I've accumulated
so many of them I'll have to soon decide what to do
with them. It's an okay sauce, not bad really,
maybe I can use it as a marinade. Except why would
I marinate anything when the frozen bag food is
so easy and quick? It might be a good BBQ sauce,
    but why would I barbeque anything . . .

I really think this is one of the best frozen foods
    I've ever found.

    Mark,

How can 1.375 pounds equate to only 800 calories???

After reading your post I called my TJ and they stock it. I'll have a
look. Gotta bring my bifocals so I can read the nutrition/ingredient fine
    print.

Sounds good, in theory and flavor.

Probably a sodium overdose for my diet. Most of TJ branded food is up
    their in sodium or sugars.

    Thanks,

    Andy

    3.5 servings per container x 270 calories = 805

one-third of that is from fat

3.5 servings per container x 380 mg = 1330 mg for the whole package

    3.5 servings per container x 10 gm sugars = 35 gm sugars

    3.5 servings per container x 19 gm protein = 66.5 gm protein

That last number seems suspect. The package is mostly
chicken meat, so how is it possible that sugars constitute
more than half the weight of the protein? Oh, that must
include the two orange ginger sauce packets, which are
rather sweet. There isn't a way to separate out that
component. I suppose the 805 total calories would be
even lower if you lay off the sauce.

    That last number seems strange.
