Funny like "keep lining you helmet with aluminum foil"?

You see what this news group would degenerate to if it weren't for brave souls like me? It would
just be one nut case after another venting his frustration with lame attempts at humor. Mr.
Larrington is off-topic (as he often is) and makes no apology for his asininities. But all the other
liberals on this news group do not object and probably find his childish jokes amusing (liberals are
not known for an intelligent sense of humor - look at that champion jackass Al Franken - he is about
as funny as death warmed over). At least I have brains enough to stay OT and not mess up recumbent
threads (unless forced to by a liberal idiot). I am waiting for someone to post taking old Dave to
task for getting off-topic but it will never happen because liberals like it when they do it and
only dislike it when I do it, but at least I try to confine my ranting and raving to OT. Mr.
Larrington does not even try. Go figure.

Frankly, I hate it when EVERYBODY (including myself), does it. Enough with the liberals blaming
conservatives and vica versa. Both liberals and conservatives suck. You are both fighting an
"either/or" battle where it should be a multiple choice. There are more than two sides to every
question or problem, and blaming merely divides people further.
Mr. Larrington is amusing when he writes of mechanical things being made of CHEESE, but I have seen
no political posts here that are entertaining, and only those of Scott Talkington were
informative. Why not at least have a meaningless argument over whether USS is better than OSS?
or Was that a good ride? Mostly subjective, ain't it? See the parallels? And now I creep back to
the protection of my newsreader filters...

Yeah, maybe it would still be a useful newsgroup about recumbent bicycling. I wish you, Sherman and
the rest would knock off the political BS. There are other forums for that, and to inflict it on the
rest of the readers and participants in this forum is incredibly rude, selfish, inappropriate
behavior. I'm this close to abandoning this group for the moderated BROL forums and leave you guys
to continue to wreck what was once the best discussion forum in bent-dom.

Who is Scott Talkington? Mr. Larrington is never amusing, and never more so than when he is trying
to be. Maybe you have to be English to appreciate him.

Political posts are never entertaining and they are not meant to be. It would be nice if they were
occasionally informative, but that is not their purpose either (although Mr. Sherman seems to think
so from time to time). No, political posts are all about oneupmanship pure and simple, and there are
no rules either. Anything goes. All that matters is that you score points for your side. When I want
to be informed I resort to radio, TV, newspapers and magazines (sometimes I even read books). I
would never think of coming to a newsgroup to become informed about much of anything, political or
otherwise. Political posts are all about screwing the other guy before he screws you, or at the very
least screwing him back after he has screwed you. My only purpose in being here is to bring some
"fair and balanced" views to what had become a massaging parlor for liberal egos at the expense of
the other 80% of the population (otherwise known as conservatives). It is not a pleasant job but
    someone has to do it.

Hey FWIW, I agree with you Bill. Not so long ago this thread would have had some great information
about tires. I don't read this newsgroup as much as I used to for the reasons you mentioned.

Gotta pack for a fun 'benting weekend in Savannah, GA. So let me know if Limbaugh or Clinton wins
this thread. I won't be around to see how it turns out.

You are absolutely correct. However, I would like to make one suggestion. That the group comes down
on WHOEVER makes the first off topic political comment in a post. Group disaprobation must be
brought to bear on the FIRST offending poster, irrespective of his or her political persuation. It
seems disingenuous to let a poster slide with a left leaning political criticism and then complain
about acrimony when our resident conservative merely picks up the gauntlet. This constant bickering
has even gotten under my elephantine hide.

You are absolutely correct. From now on instead of taking up the gauntlet I will merely take the
offender to task for posting an off topic political comment in a recumbent related subject. If
others do the same we can clean up these threads and stay on subject. I do not want others to be
reading me unless they want to when I am ranting and raving on political subjects. I only want to be
OT when I am doing that. If Mr. Larrington and a few other of the liberal screwballs here would do
the same (follow my example) all our problems would be over and done with.

Well, it was all just crazy and harmless after all. But playing around with politics is like playing
with dynamite. We are not all on the same wave length. If you are going to make a joke you have got
    to set it up.

Now, to review this thread and hopefully conclude it:

See the last paragraph in Message 1 in thread by Russ Price. Then see Message 6 in thread which is
my reply to it. All subsequent messages in thread are follow-ons and of course the original subject
line having to do with tires is no where to be found from that point on. I blame Russ Price for
including that McCarthy bit in his original post.
Mr. Larrington was not the chief offender here. I had confused him with some other threads which I
    had been monitoring.

I will admit my posts are so pregnant with inspiration that it sets everyone off. I have decided
that from now on I will not respond to political comments in recumbent subject line threads other
than to just call attention to them (the political comments) and chastise the offender. If I respond
fully then the subject is ruined as everyone one will want to respond to what I have said. My
apologies to one and all. It won't happen again - no matter how [censored] I get, I will hold my
tongue and only let loose on OT. This thread should be an object lesson to us all.

    Dear Confused:

I'd like to help, but I'm not familiar with your G19 bike. If it's anything like a P38 it will
take a 20" or 16" in front and a 700C in the back. Lots of tire options there. Could you be
    more specific?
