I'm thinking about getting new tires for my Diamondback road bike. Anyone have any ideas on a good tire. General touring is the main plan for this summer.

I now ride a road bike and use Schwalbe blizzard tires (700-23).
Crossint the world with the marathons was really great, few flats even in the rough areas of China etc. and they lasted about 10,000 k's each.I am thinking of riding from Cape town to Vladivostok and will use these tires again.
Go for the marathons...

I have some IRC Road Winner II Duro on my bike. They are 700 x 28, but their actual width is closer to 25mm, so they fit fine on road bikes with side pull brakes. They were cheap, and they ride well. I have had only one flat. If your bike has side pulls, then they would be a good deal. If your bike has cantilever brakes, then it might be better to get something wider for touring.
