Tire recommendation?

for that sortof thing.. (depends on how chunky the gravel is) id probly look at a lightweight XC tyre like the hutchison python, i'd look at 2.0 wide, if its quite dryu and sandy then mabie wider, depends how much of everything your riding in

mabie some geax mezcals ? theres plenty of good lightweight grippy tires out there just depends on everything your riding in as to how wide, what sortof trad pattern, wall thickness, inflation pressure etc

Pythons are good, another good one is WTB EpicWolf, which has been renamed the ExiWolf for '05. Comes in a 1.95 too.

Ended up going with Python 2.0's. Sounds like some folks really didn't like them in wet conditions, but love 'em for dry loose surfaces. Here in central NM, that's about all I ride in. I looked at the EpicWolf as a runner up, the Mezcals too. Michelin Comp S Light's were a fourth popular candidate, great reviews for rockly/loose surfaces and even good wet traction, but also quite a lot of comments about wear and weak casing/sidewalls.

i have the python airlight (lite?) 2.0's i swap them over if im going to ride in hardpack dirt but i usually use kenda nevados 2.1's for around here (quite a bit of loose dry sand

i had some geax mezcals, they seemed pretty good 😄
