Hello...
First of all just wanted to say I'm glad to have found this forum. Second, I would like some input on what i've accomplished so far and where I can go from here.
Lets start out with who I've been, I'm 21, 6'1" and was terribly out of shape at 260lbs.
I decided to take up biking to turn this around, since I was sick of it. I bought a generic mountain bike, with really wide tires and started biking. (along with removing much fried foods, sodas, and just plain ol junk form my diet) When I started, I could only bike 1/2 a mile... how sad. This was ~5 months ago.
Now, I'm down to 225 (yay) and I'm biking anywhere from 20-30 miles at 10-15mph. (on that same crappy generic mountain bike.) I generally maintain about 10mph all the way. Wat is the reccomended way of biking long distances? is it better to sustain a pace or to vary the pace with time?
Anyway... here comes my questions.. I went to a bike shop to see what my options were and they reccomended me a Trek 7200. Is this a good bike for path riding
Secondly, I noticed that the past month or so, I've been hovering between 220 and 225... is this normal? What can I do to further accelerate the weight loss?
Any input here is much appreciated.
