i hope this does not confuse anyone, but i am seeking some help on when to eat and train with an odd schedule. so here goes.
i am in the navy stationed onboard a ship and i have brought my trainer so i can ride my bike during my off times while underway. here is my delima. i have to stand watch and it varies as to what time i am on watch so i would like to know when would be the best time for me to eat and train to be efficient. i try not to eat anytime before i go to sleep but that is usually right after a training ride.
here is a typical day for me right now. i get up at 6am to eat breakfast. i stand watch from 6:45 until 11:45 then i eat lunch. i work from the end of lunch until 3:30 pm or so. i then would train for the time that i had scheduled for that day take shower and go to bed until 11:00pm that evening. the ship serves what we call midrats which is an evening meal for those people who stand watch at midnight and that is when i eat my dinner.
this schedule happens every 2 days. is this feesible to eat after i wake up or should i eat dinner after my training ride before i go to sleep or does anyone think there is a better way to setup my schedule?
now the day that i have the midnight to 4am watch i do not have watch again until 4pm to 8pm that same day. i eat lunch and dinner on this day. so i do my training ride at about 8:30pm then i go to sleep so i can wake up the next morning at 6:30 to eat breakfast and go on watch again.
again i am sorry if this is confusing but i just want to see if anyone has any other recommendations as to when i should eat.
thanks
j
