i was told to take it with my meals by my doctor.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist. I am not a either, but experience tells me that it should be taken in
the morning on an empty stomach on half hour before eating. And just before bed. The effect if
accumulative however and may not have any noticable effect for months. You doctor should be kept
posted of this. He may want to increase dosage or change meds altogether. If you keep your bgs under
300 for up to a few months--it is generally not considerred a big deal. If it continues to climb
beyond that or whatever your baseline is without it, then inform your doctor. Oral meds fal into two
basic classes. One stinulate your production of insulin--the other increases your receptivity or
sensitivity to it. Then of course insulin suplements or supplants it.
