Okay here's another: The Timex HRM sending unit has a user-replaceable battery. On mine, there is a little tiny reset button right beside the battery - a tiny brass-looking spot that needs to be depressed after the battery is in place. If for any reason the battery jiggles up as the cover is replaced, re-seat the battery and re-press the reset button.
