Did that route again today measured it on a map it is 23 miles not 20 and this time I got my time down to 3 hours. 10mph when I first set off down to 6mph at the end.Still nothing to write home about but on a Y framed MTB (won in a competition) that is three years old and has suspension front forks that don't susp not to shabby (and it "bobs" like a bugger). Pic is of a "bike path" in West Lothian, surface and route is ideal but "oh those poles". note the very strategicaly placed telegraph pole and the skid marks (not mine BTW) leading up to it.
